The Acquisition & Systems Directorate (A&S) facilitates the Army Modernization efforts of identifying and integrating technology to support the Army Modernization Priorities.

A&S facilitates the integration of Science and Technology (S&T) across the Army community and extends innovation initiatives at AFC to the Acquisition community and the Program Executive Offices (PEOs).


Thomas H. Todd, III

Deputy Commanding General for Acquisition and Systems and Chief Innovation Officer, Army Futures Command

Lt. Gen. Thomas H. Todd III. leads the Acquisition and Systems Directorate at U.S. Army Futures Command. In this executive role, he provides oversight of the Army's research laboratories and centers. As the Chief Innovation Officer, he is responsible for technology integration and experimentation directed at Army Modernization.

Todd is a 1989 graduate and designated Distinguished Alumni of The Citadel. He holds Master of Science degrees in Contract Management and Strategic Studies from the Florida Institute of Technology and the U.S. Air War College, respectively, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Throughout his career, Todd served on the Army staff and led Army and Joint programs and organizations at all levels, delivering advanced capabilities to Soldiers, Joint Services, and other government agencies, as well as over 60 foreign allied nations.
